Rapunga whakairo - My philosophyWhakakotahi – we're united in a strong purpose.Throughout my career, I have ensured that people always come first, and believe the learning and growth that follows is essential. I believe my role is to fully develop and assist others to reach their full potential. I can create an environment where people can perform. For ākonga and colleagues, this is building an environment where there is active engagement, and therefore creating high level outcomes for all tasks.I see the correct environment as being a place where the empowerment is imperative, and I take pride in creating conditions for colleagues to meet key tasks and deadlines. This would look like a safe positive environment, with a focus on quality of work produced and based on self-evaluation.With all education the endgame is that ākonga leave my classroom with a thirst for more learning, and the implication that they will now have a desire to develop socially, cognitively, and physically, which will ultimately lead to a citizen who can positively contribute to society and the sectors we serve.
