At BlueRock, we perform flood zone determinations. My personal mission is to make sure people aren't paying for flood insurance or high premiums unnecessarily. Just because part of your property is in a floodplain, your insured structure may not be—or there may be landscaping or other adjustments that may improve flood resilience and get your improvement(s) more favorable rates.Rather than blindly accepting a flood determination from an automated system, I perform a deep dive with mapping technology and, when necessary, involve my team of engineers and surveyors to examine actual conditions with precision. As the owner of Blue Rock, I bought the assets of Blue Rock Search Company and rebranded as Blue Rock Flood Services, while continuing to manage orders and customer relationships. I also digitized and streamlined the operations to improve accuracy and order turnaround time. This included:● Introducing computer generated mapping rather than hand mapping with approximate locations. ● Creating template scenarios for certificates.● Purchasing a high powered GIS software for better accuracy and record keeping, particularly for life of loan monitoring. ● Starting to offer a process to get buildings officially removed from the floodplain.

Recruited by the owner with the intent to learn the business and eventually take over for him. Supported him for 4 years, getting the opportunity to learn from one of the region's original players in this industry.

Hired for sales, technical support, and parts making for their performance products and shortly also took on Production Manager duties in addition to core duties.Key areas of responsibilities spanned: ● Production: designing and making jigs and fixtures, machining, welding, and assembly● General operations/administration: documenting processes and technical data, inventory control, job costing, price setting, scheduling work flow, and processing quotes and purchase orders● Sales and customer service: working trade shows, handling large volume accounts, and providing technical assistance to customers.

Consulted with individual customers to help them identify the right products to achieve their specific goals while promoting standard and high performance auto parts and accessories.Provided technical assistance to customers and callers for installation, repair, and troubleshooting procedures. Other routine responsibilities included managing daily cash balances, processing factory orders and returns, inventory control, computer operations, sales contracts to car dealers, and attending to customers.

Produced parts from blueprints, choosing the most efficient tooling and tooling methods to hold close tolerances and maintain a quality finish. Wrote set-up sheets for new jobs and new machines. Set up and operate other various machines such as punch presses, brake presses, and cut-off saws when needed. Performed daily maintenance on machines and occasional break down repair.
