Working as Lead Engineer and responsible for delivery of the braking refinement attribute performance to an all new electric vehicle platform from PS to Job1: • Leading a team to achieve the timely delivery of attribute requirement targets by their relevant gateways, ensuring all technical issues are identified and resolved utilising CAE, dyno and vehicle testing as appropriate• Implementation of new technologies into JLR brake systems such as fully decoupled brake by wire actuation, zero copper pad materials and zero drag calipers with active pad retraction • In depth understanding of the factors affecting the brakes refinement attributes and how to develop and deliver the system• Owner & author of test procedures and standards relating to brakes refinement testing• Planning and supporting test and development activities as required or specified in the Design Verification Plan (DVP) in time and to budget• Liaising with component engineers and suppliers as necessary to drive resolution and execution of all engineering solutions• Support and maintenance of the Automated Issues Management System (AIMS), tracking any issues to successful resolution• Driver of department process improvements such as vehicle to dyno projects, instrumentation capability development and creating or updating of procedures to increase testing within the UK, thus resulting in significant cost savings• Futuring the department for BEV & PHEV test vehicles by implementing rapid DC and fast AC charging capability at our HET assessment location for up to eight vehicles• Competitor attribute benchmarking combining physical and virtual testing with objective & subjective assessments
