My interests are in natural resource management and conservation, particularly in forests and freshwater systems. I am from Maine, and was fortunate enough to have an upbringing that instilled a love of nature, and I would like to focus my career efforts on protecting and conserving forest and water resources for future generations. I graduated from Skidmore College in May 2020 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies, a degree that helped ground me in theories of environmentalism and expand my knowledge and experiences to the agricultural and environmental education fields as well. In my free time, I enjoy fishing, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, and skiing.I currently work for the Land Use Planning Commission, Formerly the Land Use Regulation Commission, as an Environmental Specialist II in the Permitting and Compliance Division. My role comprises many different tasks including reviewing permit applications for residential, commercial, and other types of development and land uses, ensuring that the proposals comply with the agency's Rules and Standards and working with applicants to refine proposals when necessary. I also work as a compliance officer, identifying violations of the Rules and working with landowners to achieve compliance. I love helping people achieve their dreams, and work every day to provide the best customer service I can, while protecting the unique character of Maine's vast unorganized territories.
