Setting up satellite, fiber and IP links all over Australia, New Zealand and Oceania. Working with our sibling company Globecam, I also set up RF links which show live, point-of-view video from Umpire Cameras, Referee Cameras, Batsman, Batter and Jockey Cameras used in several sports from Cricket and Rugby, to Boxing, Netball, Basketball, Baseball and Racing.The tiny wearable cameras and transmitters are the first in Australia, and our company uses them around the world. In 2013 I used the cameras for CPL Cricket in Trinidad. In 2014 I helped to cover IPL Cricket in UAE and Champions League Cricket in India. I worked several other seasons of Big Bash Cricket, NRL Rugby, and Horse Racing.*Globecast Australia became Telstra Broadcast Services in 2015, which then became Gravity Media Satellite in 2021In 2017, we started Worldwide Video over IP services for 55 tennis tournaments covering 2500 matches per season across six continents and 29 countries and regions. By 2020, we started Video over IP services for America's Cup hosted in New Zealand. I've become well versed in Nimbra and Cisco DCM based delivery.

Providing training for Satellite Uplink Truck engineers for networks, affiliates, and satellite truck vendors.Work as a fill-in engineer, providing vacation relief, 24-7 operation, or additional operator for big events or when extra help is needed.Provide any and all types of television production freelancing help, in uplinking, photography, audio, TD, and other utility help, including driving Class B trucks with airbrake endorsement.

Focusing on fly-pack work with uplinks, production, and HD encoding, I provide satellite uplink and production service all over the United States and around the world. Highlights this year include surgeries in Dublin, Ireland, televised services from Spanish Town, Jamaica, President Obama's inauguration for Oprah in Washington, DC, and Michael Jackson's funeral in Los Angeles, CA.Over the last year, I worked with two other engineers to design and build a 40-foot C-Band truck for less than 1/5 the cost of ordering the truck from a satellite truck builder. I helped to accomplish this by rebuilding parts, recycling what I could, and by purchasing production equipment from auctions and sales.

Drive and operate a satellite truck to nationwide locations; perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on truck and broadcast equipment.Pull cable and set up microphones, video cameras, monitors, jibs, and lights; switch live feeds. Communicate with network producers to set levels, set up IFB transmission, and coordinate delivery of pre-taped news packages, raw video, and live reports.Proactively solve problems by maintaining a back-up plan to circumvent last minute issues. Brokered day of air and future satellite space; accessed satellite trucks and teleports, helping inexperienced operators with RF chain problems.Assisted co-workers with keeping track of incoming news feeds from all over the nation.Filled-in for Master Control shifts at All News Channel, a 24 hour news channel distributed on USSB and DirecTV; and provided services for USSB and KSTP-TV by request.

Produced, shot, edited, and uplinked daily political feed from Florida’s Capitol.Covered major hurricanes, wildfires, a cruise ship fire, and other major breaking news events from North Carolina to Florida, and west to New Orleans.Executed 160 live shots over a three-day period to a worldwide audience during Hurricane Georges from Biloxi in 174 MPH winds.Provided satellite transmission and set-up for Super Bowl XXXIII highlights and live shots in Miami.Repaired and updated gear while covering news as a photojournalist.Built an edit suite, and established a video archive library at the bureau, and networked with other CONUS affiliate truck operators to share resources at the site of any major news events.
