I am an entrepreneur and a champion of UK entrepreneurship having been founder and CEO of a UK financials services firm called finnCap (now Cavendish) that I grew from £1m turnover a year to £1m turnover a week and listed on the LSE in 2018. I introduced an Inclusive Culture into financial services in the UK and am a very passionate champion of Inclusive culture across UK businesses, where I now am a NED for a number of businesses where culture is a key driver - Solid State Plc, Sumer Ltd, 55 Redefined and Griffin Markets ltd. When I stepped down from my CEO role in Sep 2022 I wrote a number 1 bestselling book called ‘The Secret Sauce - how to superscale your business and empower your talent with empathetic leadership’. Good growth starts with good leadership.I champion female leadership and entrepreneurship being inclusive especially for underestimated founders, entrepreneurial thinking in schools, Scale Up Britain and the whole Scale Up ecosystem. I believe entrepreneurship and fast growth companies are the solution to growth, productivity and Inclusion in the UK and champion a fairer society where business is part of the solution. I was the first female chief executive of a City stockbroking firm and have worked on over 200 transactions, IPOs and secondary fund raisings. I actively champion investment for female-led business and more female leaders and am part of the Government Taskforce for Women Led High Growth Enterprises. I am passionate about empowering young people and helping them develop essential life skills and have spearheaded a campaign for entrepreneurship to be integrated into the school curriculum. I am on the advisory board for the University of Bristol, and am also Patron to The Entrepreneurs Network. I qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG and my awards include 2010 Business XL, 2009 Business XL, Power Top 50 – no 3 in the City, National Business Woman of the Future Award, Top 100 Financial Rising Stars Award.
