Van Diemen Films is focused on the design, manufacture and servicing of rehousings of vintage film lenses for the purposes of professional film and video use. During my time with the company, I was the primary design engineer responsible for producing new bespoke product designs suited for use with modern cinematogaphy.My other achievements and responsiblities in my role include;• Adapting and improving patented lens movement design in order to accommodate a wider range of lens.• Reverse engineering vintage lens contruction to allow for adaption into housings meeting modern specifications while maintaining and improving lens performance.• Maintaining and updating design library.• Managing the production schedule for in house component production.• Assisting in the training of student employees during their year in industry.• Liaising with external component manufacturers.
