We have a panel discussion and Q&A after the films talking with experts and local groups on the topics, it's my role to organise and facilitate this conversation. We encourage everyone to join us after for social 'Green drinks' in order to connect people. All film events are free of charge in order to reach as many people as possible. We show only films that represent a culturally diverse and balanced perspective. Our venue is accessible to all. We make mindful decisions when choosing a panel that represents the whole community, rather than a single demographic. As Vice Chair on SH steering group, and rep for Biodiversity in Hackney, I help make sure everyone has a voice and freedom to bring idea's to the table. I also manage communications so social media and creating a monthly newsletter for all our members. Show less

We focus mainly on implementing sustainable development work in Kenya. It’s my responsibility to promote and document the work that we do through storytelling and photography, managing multiple platforms digital content. This included a trip most recently to Kenya to visit our projects. Whilst on this trip I met with ICRAF at the UN to discuss setting up a large-scale tree-growing project.I am currently coordinating a pilot tree planting event in Kenya, by bringing the community together to plant thousands of Fruit, Nut and Gliricidia Trees on a five-acre plot of school land. The long-term objective of this project is to replicate this pilot project all over the region, to bring Food, Energy and Financial security to communities affected the most by climate change. It’s also up to me to seek out funding opportunities from private investors to grant applications to running crowd funding campaigns. Our partners include the Conservation Foundation, Living Earth, The Rainforest Alliance and the Ikea Foundation to name a few. Why?Kenya just came out of the longest drought it’s seen in years if ever, to be hit with serious high levels of flooding across the region resulting in large-scale crop loss and damns to collapse to name just the tip of the iceberg! In addition, the government called a halt to all logging for the past three months in the country and has extended the ban for a further 6 months (May 2018), because of its negative effect on the local climate. Kenya relies heavily on wood as fuel both on an industrial and domestic level for energy. Show less
