Responsibilities encompassed overseeing asset management, PM maintenance schedules, and structuring of the maintenance department within the new system. Enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness across the site. Planning and coordinating shutdowns, projects, and delegate weekend maintenance activities. Engineering support for various mechanical equipment across the site. Improving preventative maintenance protocols to optimise mechanical equipment performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborating with other departments, to maximise downtime utilisation and address engineering challenges.

Liberty steel scunthorpe is is a hot steel rolling mill. The Job includes responding to breakdowns and maintaining two steels mills. Working on a three shift Rota including nights, working closely with others and competently on my own. Maintaining and repairing spare parts, using preventative and reactive maintenance to keep both mills rolling. Maintaining and repairing several overhead cranes (John Smith, Morris Cranes), this includes fault finding and pre-planned maintenance. Recording preventative maintenance inspections of the cranes, this includes inspecting hoist ropes, brakes, limits, wheels, buffers, slew rings, lifting chains, lifting pins, magnets and lifting beams. Accompanied inspectors and operated a M.E.W.P to allow inspector access to underside of the overhead cranes and to inspect hoist ropes. Completing personal risk assessments daily. Gaining valuable skills in welding, burning and machining. Interpreting mechanical drawings, using laser aligning equipment on motors, gearboxes and pumps. First aid trained on site.

Eco Plastics is a world class bottle recycling plant. With a 4 on 4 off 12-hour shift rota in a fast moving FMCG environment. Part of a team which reacts to breakdowns across the whole recycling plant, whilst working with the production team to keep the plant down as little as possible completing the task to a safe and workable condition. This includes conveyors, balers, granulators, extrusion lines and wash plants. Including a daily PPM to keep on top of maintenance activities and completing SAP.

The Job entails responding to breakdowns and maintaining two steels mills, one of which is a light section mill. Working on a night shift rota, during the day working closely with others and during the night working competently on my own. I restore and maintain spare parts ready for replacing when breakdowns occur. Using preventative maintenance and pre-planned maintenance to keep the mills running efficiently as part of a team. With this job I have gained necessary skills in welding, burning and machining allowing me to fabricate items when required. I have experience on OHC, responding to breakdowns, completing planned maintenance and inspections.
