What makes me tick. I love to help people. I relish the feeling of having someone attend my practice in discomfort or tired and have them leave feeling energetic, positive and more often than not in less discomfort. When not helping people clinically, I spend my spare time renovating the house. I love a challenge and/or a project which has a rewarding result. I love inspiring people to be their best self. I love seeing people be their best. Weather it is on a football field, watching a live band or in an art gallery. I'm constantly 'being inspired by watching people do their best. I love spending time with my family. Camping, surfing, gardening and playing music. Quality is very important to me. I care about our environment and don't like to waste people's time or money. Where ever possible I like to do things without excessive waist product being created. I've had many different positions within my chosen industry of Orthotics and Prosthetics. The role I constantly keep coming back to is patient care. The reward I get from helping people feel more comfortable, safer and happier is priceless. Having extensive experience in the O&P industry the aspects I value most are. Demand for service, Timely service management, Exceptional patient outcomes and Profitability which leads to sustainability.I'm very excited to be a part of this industry and as technology evolves and more efficient ways of caring for people come to light, more people can have better access to exceptional care. New technology doesn't eliminate experience. After treating thousands of people in my career to date, I can see how my experience and CAD can work seamlessly together. My most recent role at Austin Health as a senior Orthotist has given me great insight into public health and the generational change which is happening in our industry. With the introduction of the NDIS, a participant goal orientated funding system which enables us to advocate for funding for patients to achieve their goals. This is the single biggest change I have seen in my time in the industry. Now more than ever we need to be accountable and timely in our delivery of services and enhance the manufacturing processes in our industry to keep up with the technology. My industry experience being incredible diverse means I've been exposed to a lot. The area I'm most interested in is the lower limb as it provides the foundations for the body. Pressure, static and dynamic gait analysis increases the level of difficulty and makes every prescription and service provision different.
