Profile bio

About Sam Stacey

I have a track record of delivering exceptional outcomes for clients and contractors in the construction industry. Through the practical application of innovation, I have driven superior financial returns for stakeholders, greater sustainability and faster project completions. My knowledge of engineering and architecture has enabled me to build and lead teams to apply new techniques in construction. I have successfully managed residential, commercial, educational and transport projects. Under my leadership, Skanska was judged the ‘Most Innovative Contractor’ in 2016, by the New Civil Engineer. From 2018 to 2022 I led the Sector Deal for Construction on behalf of the UK Government. This four-year programme, the Transforming Construction Challenge, formed a key part of the UK's Industrial Strategy. Funded with a public-sector budget of £170 million and private-sector contributions of over £250 million, the Transforming Construction Challenge was tasked with lowering whole-life building costs by 33%, reducing carbon emissions by at least 50% and doubling the speed of project delivery. The programme was a proven success, improving the project lifecycle of all building types and significantly changing the way buildings are procured.I am continuing to deliver great projects and programmes for suppliers and asset owners in construction.

Listed skills include Innovation Management, Design Management, Value Engineering, Project Bidding, and 17 others.
