As a Speechwriter to the Commander, Naval Surface Forces and Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, I craft compelling and impactful messages communicating the mission, vision, and values of the Surface Warfare community. I have been in this role for 21 months - first as speechwriter to VADM Roy Kitchener and, now, to RADM Yvette Davids. Before that, I served as a First Lieutenant and Operations Officer onboard USS Delbert D. Black, a guided-missile destroyer, where I led and supervised the ship's Operations Department and coordinated with other units and agencies. I completed my first Division Officer tour onboard USS Porter as the Gunnery Officer and Repair Officer.I have a B.S. of Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, where I developed a strong foundation in analytical and critical thinking skills. I, also, have expertise in writing, problem-solving methodology, naval policy, and leadership development. I am passionate about solving tough problems, advancing the naval profession, and enhancing the tools, techniques, and methods our Sailors use to sustain excellency. I hope to use these skills in the future within the bounds of climate policy and sustainability - working on a clean energy transition, infrastructure investment, and the robust policy necessary to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
