Air Traffic Controller
CurrentAir traffic controller (tower), entailing provision of air navigation services to domestic and international aircraft within Australian airspace in multiple locations across the country, including Bankstown, Melbourne, Broome and Jandakot towers. Several years experience instructing and assessing ab initio and experienced controllers in live traffic, simulator and classroom environments.● Prioritisation of safety and maintaining a reporting culture, to enable the industry to learn and grow from experience● Extensive experience in radio communications and conveying complex instructions in a clear manner, often to persons for whom English is not the primary language● Working with new aviation systems and personally contributing to the refinement of system functions during the early stages● Emergency management and response including hijackings, malicious interference and aircraft crashes● Trainer and assessor in both live and simulated environments, successfully delivering theoretical and practical material to experienced and inexperienced trainees● Acting supervisory and management roles on numerous occasions, including both operational and people management capacities
