Legislative Aide
CurrentA Legislative Assistant provides the necessary tools to help the Senator successfully fulfill the obligations of the office. My responsibilities include answering a multi-line phone, greeting and directing office visitors, opening and sorting mail, responding to constituent emails, communicating with various state agencies and community organizations regarding constituent casework, tracking the progression of the Senator’s bills through session, attending committee hearings to take notes, taking meetings with constituents regarding their legislative and budget priorities, sorting all incoming internet mail, and maintaining my Senator’s schedule. Additional duties include record keeping, answering and notating voicemails, and delivering bills/floor amendments to the Senate workroom.
