Responsible for providing leadership in formulation and implementation of new product development/customer value propositions to enhance sales and profitability growth for both 1-Phase and 3-Phase Transformer product lines. Leads all aspects and administers/implements VOC (voice of customer) collection for each Transformer Product Line. Drives/completes marketing activities and documentation required for Transformers New Product Development projects. Involved in business development with each Transformers product line team. Works closely with Transformers Engineering Manager/ Team and Product Marketing Managers to drive continuous product improvement, product innovation, and enhanced customer solutions for the Transformer business. The Product Development Manager must have an excellent knowledge of the product line’s customers, sales channels, and a thorough understanding of the dynamics of selling power distribution equipment. They will also continue to develop and provide advanced technical marketing support and training, to both internal and external customers. In addition, this position will have responsibility for directing and maintaining the product roadmaps and coordinating/maintaining the NPD/NPI (new product development / introduction) Engineering budget required to support the 1-Phase and 3-Phase Transformer product lines

Serving as the Principal Engineer for New Product Development, Sam is responsible for developing and executing strategic and tactical new product initiatives to increase the growth and profitability of the 1 PH and 3 PH Transformer product lines via new products, new technology for the US Utility and International Commercial & Industrial market segments. Sam is the key driver in Identifying, gathering, quantifying and transforming VOC (Voice of Customer) inputs into new business opportunities including new product development, existing product optimization, value engineering, marketing programs and other initiatives to support the overall Product Line Roadmap. Sam is also be responsible for performing competitive analyses and developing competitive product comparisons as needed. Maintaining a pulse on the competitive product offerings and go to market strategy. Driving new product development in concert with other Eaton divisions, Sam aims to maximize the synergy between Transformers and other applicable products throughout Eaton, and ensures that new products will align with manufacturing, sourcing, and commercial strategies and bring a new wave of technological innovation to the electrical grid.

Lead designer of mechnical systems and power electronics for Altrubots telepresence robotics team. Altrubots telepresence robotics company specializes in ultra-low-latency robotic video communications and controls that allow users to operate specialized robots in environments that are either at distant locations or hazardous areas. The initial project channel for the Altrubots team is being developed for the purpose of controlling trash cleaning robots that reside in rivers and waterways. The river robots are piloted by users globally via the internet to aid in the removal of floating refuse and clean up of our waterways - launch for the first robot targeted for summer 2020.With many years of engineering design and fabrication experience I have help develop the mechnical systems, power elevtronics, and controls platform for the Altrubots technology. This inspiration stemmed from a love of experimenting, inventing, and innovating solutions for a better tomorrow.
