I have been working on local authority housing retrofit projects since 2021. My first job was working as a grant administrator focusing on schemes such as the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery and ECO Flex. This was a customer focused role and helped me gain a good understanding of the needs and experiences of residents who go through these schemes and need these improvements. In addition to this, following the customers journey from point of application to completion of works gave me an appreciation of the good these schemes can do improving residents lives.Following this I took on the role of Technical Energy Officer. In this position I have worked across various housing retrofit schemes such as Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery, Home Upgrade Grant and ECO Flex. My most recent project has been forming the Cumbria Social Housing Consortium which was brought together to facilitate a Social housing Decarbonisation Fund bid. This Consortium is comprised of Westmorland and Furness Council along with 5 social housing providers suited in and around Cumbria. Following this, I led the Consortium in pulling together a collaborative bid which was successful. We were awarded Circa £5m towards our £10m project. I'm now working with the consortium and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to try and facilitate successful delivery of the project.
