This summer, as a judicial extern for the Honorable Robert Hanson, I conduct research on age discrimination, disability discrimination, breach of contract, intentional torts, jury instruction procedure, and post conviction relief appeals. In addition to research, I draft court rulings and bench memoranda to grant or deny summary judgment motions. I also observe numerous civil, criminal, and small claim proceedings. This experience has further honed my legal research and writing skills.

I recently served as the business liaison and community outreach contact for the Highway 22 Roundabouts project in Mankato, MN.I had the responsibility of providing support to local businesses affected by construction and road detour along with community education. As the community outreach specialist I planned and hosted events in Mankato and the surrounding communities to educate motorists about the roundabouts project and how to effectively navigate them once completed. The largest event I helped to coordinate, the Ride the Roundabout Fair, had over 700 attendees. At the fair we had a miniature replica roundabout in an empty parking lot. The driver's had the choice to drive themselves or be a passenger in a golf cart while they navigating through the replica Adams Street roundabout. At the event we also had informational handout, coupons for area businesses, a spin wheel with roundabout question, a replica roundabout game board, and food and refreshments. Other job responsibilities:Maintained, updated, and designed project website: www.roundaboutready.com.Provided support internally and collaborated amongst the three project partners (MnDOT, City of Mankato, and Blue Earth County).Provided support externally to the businesses and community members. Taught at 10 55+ Drive Improvement Program classes. Updated social media sites: Twitter (twitter.com/roundaboutready); Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Th22RoundaboutsMankato?fref=ts).Planned and hosted 12 construction update lunches for community members, businesses, and local media to be updated on construction progress. Hosted information tables at businesses within the construction zone.Worked with local media to promote and educate community on the project.
