After returning to Future Funding, I have secured a promotion to Senior Advisor in the Enabling Local Investments team. Responsible for engagement with Area Local Outcome Plans to support delivery of Area ambitions and EA2025

Having completed an Apprenticeship Level 5 course in Leadership and Management, I got the opportunity to put this learning into practice during a 6-month assignment as an Asset Performance Team Leader in the West Midlands Area. Leading a team of 6, I was the Responsible Officer for over 2000 flood risk management assets in Birmingham and Warwickshire and carried out the usual TL activities of performance reviews, recruitment and workload management.

I returned from the Senior User assignment to the new Future Funding department. Almost immediately I was loaned out to the National Lottery Heritage Fund to assist with the development and set up of the Green Recovery Challenge Fund (GRCF) Round 1 (https://www.heritagefund.org.uk/funding/closed-programmes/green-recovery-challenge-fund) which launched in Sept 2020. The success of Round 1 led to HMT releasing another £40M for GRCF Round 2. I was then loaned to Defra to assist with developing proposals for R2, incorporating lessons learnt from R1 (https://www.heritagefund.org.uk/funding/closed-programmes/application-guidance-green-recovery-challenge-fund-round-2).

Assignment as the Senior User Representative on the Solihull Accommodation Project. This change project closed our office in Solihull and moved nearly 400 staff to a new location in central Birmingham on the edge of the Jewellery Quarter. My role involved enabling clear communications between the project team and the customer, to ensure staff requirements were included in the final design.

As part of the Head Office Partnership Funding Team my role was to support colleagues across the business to develop their project proposals, navigate internal approval processes and develop a funding package for the project including accessing external funding. I led for the team in maintaining the team’s knowledge, influence and capacity building around Domestic Third Sector funds including the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), Landfill Communities Fund and Highways England Designated Funds.Key projects included securing funds for the £20M LIFE and HLF funded Unlocking the Severn project - https://www.unlockingthesevern.co.uk/

During doing this role, a number of different duties and responsibilities have become part of the role as follows:2013-14: I was responsible for the setting up of the Environment Programme in SWWM Area following the closure of the Midlands Programme Management Office. 2010-2013: I was the Partnership Funding lead for the Midlands Programme Management Office, which managed the annual multi-million pound programme of non-FCRM projects in the Environment Agency's Midlands Region. 2008- 2015: I was responsible for supporting Project Managers to plan, develop and find funding for their projects as well as guiding them through EA internal processes. Responsible for managing all aspects of the running of Midlands Region's RFERAC (Regional Fisheries, Ecology and Recreation Advisory Committee) and REPAC (Regional Environment Protection Advisory Committee) for Midlands Region. I also facilitated meetings between the chairs of the three committees and the EA's Midlands Regional Director to discuss the strategy and forward look for the committees.

Worked on various Partnership initiatives across the Lower Trent Area.

Working on developing the Council's environmental performance management system - the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
