Since 2015 I have led a team of Beach Lifeguards across Cerdigion and North Pembrokeshire. This involved recruiting, training and managing a team of 45 staff across 10 locations.The seasonal nature of the Lifeguard season means that I am responsible for overseeing the roll-out and pack-down of temporary Lifeguard facilities across the coast on an annual basis. This involves liaising with internal departments, and external agencies and communities.A significant part of my role is to deliver leadership training and nurturing leadership skills within my team, in order to ensure the safe and effective delivery of a lifesaving service. I have devised and implemented a development pathway within our team.My personal strengths are my intra-personal skills, and my ability to develop people. I enjoy taking a 'hands on' approach to training but also effective in taking a step back for strategical planning.
