As a board member, I want Master Plumbers to be a strong Iwi. To have a deep sense of community and support among our members creating a solid foundation for the success of Master Plumbers. I want our whanau to be successful, for our businesses to grow, and sustain our industry. I want to ensure our apprentices, our Tamariki, flourish within our iwi by prioritising their well-being and professional development.I care about the many challenges facing our industry. Such as our ongoing pursuit of self-certification for plumbers – which is vital for upholding industry standards and public safety. Navigating the shift to renewable gas in New Zealand – which demands our proactive involvement, to have a sustainable future for all. The challenges faced by apprentices due to subpar training. We need to look at alternative solutions within our organisation, to ensure the development of skilled professionals for our industry's future. Recognising the need to boost local membership engagement, I am keen to find a way all members can participate in Master Plumbers and maximise the benefits.I have been in my plumbing business for over 13 years now and have gained valuable insights into industry complexities and am committed to addressing these strategically. I have recently stepped out of the day-to-day running of my business Climate & Plumbing, which allows me time to commit to my role as a director.

As a woman entering the Plumbing industry in 2010 when purchasing Climate, with no prior connectionto the industry, I embarked on a journey of learning as much as I could about the trade and establishingconnections that I could turn to for guidance and support. Joining Master Plumbers played a big rolein this and has led me to becoming the current president of the local Master Plumbers, Gasfitters andDrainlayers Association representing the Taranaki association at a national level since 2012.

I’m excited to be back on the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce board after a break. As a local business owner and a member of the Master Plumbers National Board, I’m looking forward to contributing once again, using what I’ve learned over the past decade to help steer the Chamber’s strategic direction and support our community's growth. It’s great to be involved once more, and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve.
