I was a school governor at Holbrook Primary School for a three year terms where i worked on Various sub commitees. The Curriculum and Pupil Related Commitee meant i was part of a team who looked at the schools policies, brocure, met new parents and ensured that all puils felt that their school was a safe enviroment to be.The Head Teacher Commitee I chaired for two years witha colleage and our responability was to ensure that the head teacher was able to define her own targets and ensure that over the required period these targets were acheived. Sometimes it is helpful to have someone out of the loop looking at your work load and ensuring that you do not overcommit and have enough time to breathe and think (although not always possible).I was party to looking at the school data and ensuring that as a school we were acheiving excellent results and understand why maybe figures were not as expected.Ofsted had one visit whilst I was at the school in this post and ensured all paperwork and data required was in a orderly understandable format and was available for any queries.
