Responsible for all budgetery, administrative, office and welfare support services including Finance, HR, IT, Programme Office,Health & Safety, Transport, Property Management and Housing, Domestic and Office Support, Manpower Planning, and Welfare.

Responsible for developing the commercial proposition in relation to affordability, financial transformation/governance, pricing and payment.

Working in partnership with AWE PLC (GOCO), the USA and France to maintain UK nuclear capability. Involved in the day to day management of the business including: setting the 10 year programme, managing in-year budget of £1.1Billion, scrutiny of major projects (circa £2Billion) delivering efficiencies, asset and cash management. Authority to deal and correspond directly with the MOD central staff, the Treasury, NAO officials and with suppliers both current and potential.

Responsible for: maintaining an understanding of the Air equipment programme in order to provide expert source of military advice; coherency of tri-service options, impacts and costing to ensure balanced investment decisions; management of the planning round process, including policy for risk and third order assumptions. Responsible for ensuring delivery of logistics and engineering support and equipment to Front Line Customers through the medium of JBAs.

Deputy Finance Director for the Operational, Training and Recruiting arms of the Royal Air Force responsible to the Board for management of the in-year budget, preparation of the 4 year plan, scrutiny of all major capital projects, manpower planning and establishment variations, performance management, risk management, and policy and staffing of Customer Supplier Agreements. RAF HQ Air Command has a budget of approx £3Billion and 36,000 personnel.
