• Prepping data and conforming timelines on Flame for VFX Artists.• Rotoscoping and keying on Flame.• Onlining and exporting simple outputs for delivery• Creating Titles and Legals in Photoshop.• Sending and receiving data electronically using various transfer methods• Quality Checking all renders made by the VFX department. This includes checking composites, rotoscoping, blanking, clocks and graphics amongst other things.• Maintaining SAN levels. This entails archiving and deleting data to make sure the SANs don’t go beyond the recommended sizes.

• Converting file sequences to other colourspaces and filetypes so it’s usable for other departments.• Extracting section sequences from MXFs, ProRes files & DCPs and comparing/trimming to match Textless equivalents so its ready for use by the graphics team.• Checking Artwork Metadata matches specifications needed for upload to client platforms.

• Quality Checking all renders made by the graphics department. This includes making sure foreign translations match the Approved Proofs and match the Original Version stylistically as much as possible. This also includes Quality Checking Dubbing Cards, BBFC & IFCO Cards and Censorship blurs amongst other things. These tasks are done at a fast turnaround to facilitate Feature Film & Trailer Debut releases but also with a critical eye so mistakes can’t make it into the final product.• Organising original version data for feature & trailer content into a cohesive, organised structure so it’s clear and everyone knows where to find what they need.• Quality Checking said original version data to confirm it is usable and contains the relevant sections needed for our graphics team to do what they need. • Pulling sections from this OV content to match supplied Narrative Title Lists, then doing the same to supplied Textless data making sure the sections match in length and the correct text is textless.• Organising the workflow through the company for OV Feature projects.• Running the theatrical screenings of the OV Feature DCPs for clients & VIPs (I can use Doremi & Dolby systems).• Creating Insert Reports of received trailers so they can be sent externally for translation.• General troubleshooting for Account Managers & Project Managers and advising them on what content is required and what tasks should be assigned to which departments to fulfil their needs.

• Supervising other members of the team and knowing when to delegate to different members to take advantage of their individual skills.• Training new starters and junior members of the team so that they can work at the high level expected of all members of the department.• Establishing new processes and workflows to increase efficiency wherever possible.• Assuming responsibility for the department on behalf of the Manager when required and making sure the needs of the team and the company are well looked after in his stead.• Providing out of hours support for junior members of staff to help trouble solve issue they are having difficulty with.• Balancing the department’s workload effectively to meet all the required deadlines.

• Sending and receiving data electronically using various transfer methods (up to 62 different methods at the time of writing) including Aspera, Smartjog, FTP and Signiant Media Exchange• Maintaining SAN levels. This entails archiving and deleting data to make sure the SANs don’t go beyond the recommended sizes.• Maintaining the organisation of the SAN folder structures. This is required to make sure the structure of the SAN is legible and easy to follow for all departments throughout the company.• Maintaining SAN permissions using Linux (I’m proficient in using Red Hat) so different departments don’t have the ability to modify, move or delete other departments files.• Ingesting data from drives and other physical media• Dealing with any data movement required on the SAN. This includes dropping in pickup sections, adding prefix’ to frame ranges, building different versions of reels and many other similar tasks.
