𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱:I founded Golf Backyard during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing golfers the opportunity to enjoy their sport at home. Golf Backyard offerings included golf nets, mats, and simulators purchased globally (no-dropshipping / everything in stock).𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:• Launched during my pre-master at Tilburg University and my parttime job at Sendcloud.• Achieved over €100.000 revenue within the first year of business.• Earned a fantastic 9.7/10 customer satisfaction rating from 300+ reviewers.• Achieved consistent 25% YoY growth in website visitors.• Handled everything - finance, marketing, improving the website, and day-to-day tasks.• Expanded Golf Backyard into Germany

In my role as a Fraud Officer, my primary objective was to proactively identify and address fraudulent transactions, with a focus on prevention. My main challenge was to strike an optimal balance between risk mitigation, authorization rates, operational efficiency, and net margin optimization.I am proud to have delivered highly promising results, evidenced by a significant reduction in chargeback rates by 50%, as well as achieving a 2% increase in authentication rates. What particularly excited me was the measurable impact of my performance, which I tracked through various strategies and data-driven graphs.

During my graduation internship, I conducted comprehensive research for my thesis, focusing on identifying crucial control procedures necessary for the Financial department to effectively manage rapid expansion.In addition to my research responsibilities, I actively contributed to the team by taking on daily tasks. I successfully implemented an expense management tool for 100+ active users (Declaree) connected to the financial system (Twinfield), streamlined workflows by automating repetitive tasks using VBA Excel, and provided valuable support to the financial analyst.

I worked mainly on projects making internal processes more efficient. Together with our development department we set up a payment notification system. Improved the information retrieved from carriers. Assisted in implementing new accounting tool, set-up reports, saved searches, reconciliation matching rules and other improvements.

During my internship I developed financial, analyzing, computer and business communication skills. I cooperated closely with my finance colleagues to make SendCloud boost their business even further. My main assignment was about reviewing new accounting systems, since the scaling possibilities with our previous one were limited. I wrote my recommendations, and I helped implementing our current software system.Besides that I improved different processes; focussing on surcharges mainly, I learned myself the basics of VBA coding and that improved multiple workflows, besides that I shared ideas on how to improve SendCloud's platform.
