As the product designer for the data team, I collaborated with data scientists, product managers, software engineers, and other designers to build informative digital experiences around Kinsa's unique data set. I produced prototypes, authored and managed a UI pattern library, conducted user testing, and produced high fidelity interface designs around actionable insights and public health warnings.

As a contract visual design lead, I was responsible for establishing and communicating the visual design process to clients, translating user goals into interface concepts, creating prototypes, and collaborating with developers to ensure our final products accomplished the design intent. I also occasionally developed parts of interfaces directly in code to experiment or streamline workflow.

In addition to my role in producing and art-directing digital design, I worked extensively to define and document team process to help each department be more flexible, resilient, and responsive to changing project requirements. I promoted cross-disciplinary collaboration with confidence, an ability to learn quickly, and empathy for others with different experiences. I helped Social Driver adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of digital design.

I provided a connection between visual art/design and technical development to support the company’s industry leading work with emotional resonance. My ability to think broadly and sketch quickly helped the data science team explore possibilities to push the work in innovative directions. Data visualization is as much an art form as a technical process, and I helped Periscopic continue to build a prestigious reputation for synthesizing the two.
