Working as half of Dr Wollaston’s Westminster team, I dealt with her commitments within parliament and liaised with the constituency office to manage tasks. My responsibilities included:• Monitoring day to day Parliamentary business, including house business, events and committee reports for information relevant to Dr Wollaston’s interests;• Writing reports on bills, summarising the main provisions and any surrounding debate, as well as providing explanatory notes for amendments;• Arranging appointments and managing Dr Wollaston’s diary commitments;• Processing media enquiries and arranging interviews where necessary;• Representing Dr Wollaston in meetings and events when she was not available;• Planning and organising events, including arranging the venue and speakers, managing the guest list and ensuring that events ran smoothly;• Drafting articles for newspapers and Dr Wollaston’s website;• Giving tours of the Parliamentary Estate;• Training and supervising students on work experience placements.
