After completing a marketing Internship in the summer of 2020, I was retained to work part-time on marketing and communications projects. Reporting to the Marketing Director, I attend weekly meetings to discuss trends and future goals while gathering and providing feedback to senior decision-makers. My contributions include:* Help serve the community by communicating the dates, times, and locations of food distribution across 25 sites. * Write and distribute weekly newsletters for internal and external stakeholders. * Develop and update website content while creating posts and videos for 12 social media accounts across 4 platforms. * Collaborate with team members to recognize corporate donors via social media and website content. * Interview individuals by phone and in-person to create “60 Seconds of Hope” videos promoting success stories while highlighting the Salvation Army’s resources, mission, and contributions to the community.

In this role, I assisted the marketing manager in sorting internal documents (i.e. photos, video clips, etc.) for external use on the organizational website or social media pages. I also participated in marketing meetings and provided ideas and potential directions for where the company should head in terms of image.

In this role, I handled client communications while replacing and installing sewer lines throughout Newport News, VA. During this time, I was instrumental in renewing client contracts by emptying and cleaning 2,000-gallon grease traps. I also oversaw supplies and warehousing.

In this role, I led nine participants in summiting a 14,000 ft. mountain in Colorado. As part of this effort, I conducted small breakout sessions on how to read and follow terrestrial/topographical maps. I oversaw and delegated emergency response efforts in reaction to a participant breaking her leg.
