I am a trustee and director of Menfulness - A men's social wellbeing charity, offering events, activities and counselling, we aim to combat the stigma around men's mental health. #DontManUpSpeakUpI am a Mental Health First Aider and SafeTALK and ASIST suicide awareness trained. I am an advocate for empowering all to speak our truth about mental health. I am a qualified Leadership and Management Coach and member of the coaching team within City of York Council. I am also trained in Lewis Deep Democracy. I believe the growth is possible for us all through self awareness and articulating goals driven by our values. I am a Neighbourhood Enforcement Officer. I have worked for the Local Authority in environmental and anti-social behaviour enforcement roles for most of my working life. I have substantial experience interpreting legislation, negotiating compliance, as well as gathering evidence and building cases for prosecution. I am proud to work with a huge network of fellow agencies to do my bit to make York cleaner and safer. I am a small business owner. Pop Up York runs public and private film and music events across the City of York. I believe in the power of films and music to bring communities together. I am a personal license holder and have experience in licensing venues for temporary events, the sale of alcohol and the screening of films.I am chairman of the non-profit community cinema Film at the Folk Hall, in New Earswick. This is where my volunteering journey began. It was born to fight isolation in the local community, and has grown to offer an alternative to mainstream cinema. Making cinema social again, with relaxed, table seating, a bar and an interval.
