University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation trust covers several hospitals in Bristol, including the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, St Michael's Hospital, Bristol Eye and Bristol Dental Hospitals, Bristol Haemotology and Oncology Centre and Bristol Heart Institute and South Bristol Community Hospital.Ensuring that these sites are correctly staffed remains a consistent challenge. My Team Leader role involves the management of a team of 5 Recruitment Coordinators, we work together to ensure the recruitment process for new starters is efficient and their pre-employment checks are carried out in line with national/trust policies and procedures. As a management team we are responsible for driving best practice and positive change and development within the resourcing function. As the Recruitment Lead for the Diagnostics and Therapies Division of the trust, I aim to take a proactive approach in addressing recruitment challenges faced by departments within the division. This involves meeting with recruiting managers within the division to understand their key challenges with regards to recruitment. Once understood I seek to use innovative recruitment strategies overcome these. Whether this be by approaching candidate engagement in a different way, or by acting as a reliable point of contact for managers and the wider recruitment team, to streamline the recruitment process where possible.

With vast sums of money being investment into research and development globally, having effective means of communicating these findings is essential in ensuring continued investment into research, cross-sector application of findings and continued development in all scientific fields.

The University Paper is a national company that gives students the opportunity to run their own business in the form of a local, free, monthly run, student written publication in their city. A paper which is designed to help, inform, entertain and glorify local student success from the entire cities student population. While I run the day to day operations of the business including helping with the organisation of editorial content, distribution and ensuring the paper can support its self financially, The University Paper aids with the printing and design/content, producing a final product which has a clean professional finish that benefits both students and local businesses.My primary role is to build relationships with local businesses who aim to target students, a demographic that accounts for over £80bn of contributions the UK economy, and advise them as to the best ways to go about doing so.This takes in depth knowledge of various forms of marketing and how these can be used together to create an overall effective platform to connect to students, ensuring a company's maximal potential reach to students is fulfilled. Having not long graduated my self, I use my knowledge of student behavior, recent trends and habit patterns to help advice on this, offering a tailored and effective solution to student marketing.
