During my time in Michelin I’ve been mainly based within the finishing department where I worked to meet targets hourly and focused on quality control of my own and colleagues’ products. I have to check and verify my own products to stringent high standards and maintain this consistently. I am the safety representative on my rota. This involves distributing safety equipment to others and maintaining health and safety standards, and attending meetings to discuss and troubleshoot any issues. I was previously asked to work in the warehouse due to my previous warehouse experience. I was part of the team that handled stock control and movement. On occasion I work within the repairs department where I repair faulty tyres that have been constructed on the line.

I was a key holder within my role of operations manager and often opened and locked up the premises. This included banking and clerical duties every day. During my employment I worked within all areas of the business, including the delivery and driving department where I oversaw the management of route planning for deliveries while maintaining a strict time schedule and working to meet targets. Another duty was fleet management which included van checks, service schedules and monitoring of drivers conduct through dashcams, taking disciplinary action if required through the process of warnings and personal improvement plans to help with achieving targets. Within the warehouse department I was called upon to manage daily stock checks and act upon the findings through product ordering and sales. As this was a new branch, I played a role in the initial recruitment process through interviewing and making decisions with regards to multiple candidates.

I was trained in the oracle WMS system, which allowed me to check stock levels and any adjustments; it also facilitated order processing essential to completing numerous daily tasks and dealing with any issues that may have occurred. Throughout my working day I assess workload and team members skill levels to enable me to delegate work equally and fairly. This ensured that tasks were carried out correctly and in a timely fashion. During my time at Dairygold I participated in aiding the development of staff in turn creating flexibility of the workforce in the department. I was also responsible for my own personal development, constantly striving to achieve new goals.
