I'm currently working as a Roading Forester at HQ Plantations in Queensland, managing the roading network across the Beerburrum region. This role involves handling a variety of roadworks projects, including pre-harvest roadworks and capital expenditure projects as well as overseeing fire protection and wildfire suppression. My work allows me to apply my strong skills in forestry management, project management, and teamwork while focusing on safety and environmental sustainability.My journey in forestry started with a Bachelor of Forestry Science at the University of Canterbury, driven by my love for the outdoors and the desire to work in a field where I can make a tangible impact. I'm passionate about blending practical forestry skills with innovative solutions, and I enjoy the diverse challenges that come with my role.I consider myself to be reliable, highly organised, and goal-oriented with excellent communication and written skills. In addition to my professional work, I have been a volunteer firefighter with Fire and Emergency New Zealand since 2017. I’ve attended dozens of callouts, including a five-day deployment at the Matakana Island fire in 2020-2021, and have gained extensive qualifications in firefighting and emergency response. This experience has strengthened my ability to stay calm under pressure and work as part of a team in high-stakes environments.
