The New Village School is a Bay Area independent school located in Sausalito, serving children in preschool, kindergarten, grade, and middle school. My primary responsibilities are: -Manage the admissions process and recruiting students-Manage the office and administrative forms -Maintain relationships with high schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders.-Manage marketing, website, and social media efforts for the New Village School We have created a new extended family: the new village. This is a place in which parents feel safe in the knowledge that everyone feels responsible for everyone’s well-being. Our neighborhoods as we once knew them have changed, and our school addresses the need for community. In that way, our school is a portable neighborhood, and our children are raised in a community of caring individuals.In the classroom, we have created a natural extended family. We do not always separate the children artificially by grades. Indeed, all the children interact with each other at various points throughout the day.We believe in long-term relationships. Children respond with feelings of camaraderie, commitment, and a profound sense of trust. Teachers benefit from the time and ability to deeply understand and come to know the children and how best to help them develop their abilities.Finally, the New Village is a community of learners – children and adults – who never give up trying to discover even more about ourselves. Thus, we strive to create an atmosphere where everyone feels safe to be vulnerable, honest, and authentic.

The Garden serves as a space within AT&T Park for San Francisco Giants fans to enjoy before and during baseball games. The two bistros located inside the Garden, offer a healthy menu featuring fruits and vegetables harvested fresh from the Garden. The Garden also serves as an outdoor classroom where Bay Area children and youth gather to learn about sustainability, gardening, cooking, and the importance of healthy eating.Key Responsibilities:• Oversee annual/seasonal crop planning to ensure plants growing in the Garden can be used in food serve and kid’s education program • Function as lead teacher; responsible for delivering a quality educational experience for all student visitors.• Manage education program – create and maintain events and schedules; coordinate event logistics with community partners and schools.• Manage educational tours for adults – coordinate tours for corporations, community groups, etc. • Create strategic communication and marketing efforts to increase awareness of educational programs and increase Garden bistro sales. Create content for social media, blogs, websites, and branded items.• Ensure top quality customer experience in the Garden’s bistros during Giants games. Serve as point person for game-day visitors and media. • Collaborate with the San Francisco Giants on special events and promotions as they relate to the Garden.• Manage Garden at AT&T Park budget, track expenditures, and main monthly goals.• Manage the Garden at AT&T Park Program Coordinator – oversee schedule, provide work assignments, and supervise overall quality of work.

Provided year-round maintenance (planting, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting) the crops at the Garden at Oracle Park and the STEM Kitchen and Garden

While working as a research assistant for the USF Community Garden managed the garden crops. I harvested and donated the produce to charities. I helped organized and led weekly workdays with the community. I taught a weekly garden class to Upward Bound students/at-risk youth. Lastly I assisted in organizing a month free community dinner that encompassed a good part of the Western Addition population.

As the ARC Event House Manager I had a plethora of different responsibilities including: welcoming/setting up for other groups/people/companies to use the space, help setup lighting and audio equipment for concerts, accommodate the needs of band members, sell wine/beer/snacks, and clean up after the event.

As research assistant for the University of San Francisco Urban Agriculture Department, I assisted Professor Silver with researching and communicating with all 28 Jesuit Universities and Colleges that had an interest in agriculture/sustainability/food justice. I pursued new methods to make USF more sustainable. Lastly, I help organize the operations of USF Community Garden Work Days.
