    Youth Vocational Specialist in headspace Ballarat's Youth Employment Program (YEP). Our focus is in connecting young people (15-25) with workplaces and employers in our region. YEP is delivered within the model of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program. IPS supported employment is an evidence-based practice that assists individuals impacted by mental illness to gain employment in regular jobs related to their work preferences. Utilising the evidence based approach which underpins the IPS model and its eight core practice principles to guide the services provided, individuals are supported in achieving their work and study goals. We assist in identifying goals, navigating Centrelink, job search strategies, employer introductions, interview preparation and follow-along support once the person gets the job. The service is fully individualised, time-unlimited, and completely customised to the individual preferences of each participant.
