Youth Vocational Specialist in headspace Ballarat's Youth Employment Program (YEP). Our focus is in connecting young people (15-25) with workplaces and employers in our region. YEP is delivered within the model of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program. IPS supported employment is an evidence-based practice that assists individuals impacted by mental illness to gain employment in regular jobs related to their work preferences. Utilising the evidence based approach which underpins the IPS model and its eight core practice principles to guide the services provided, individuals are supported in achieving their work and study goals. We assist in identifying goals, navigating Centrelink, job search strategies, employer introductions, interview preparation and follow-along support once the person gets the job. The service is fully individualised, time-unlimited, and completely customised to the individual preferences of each participant.

The Reconnect program strives to support Victorians experiencing disadvantage. The program assists participants to overcome the barriers preventing them from engaging in education and training and provides support into further study or employment pathways. Reconnect supports participants to access an individualised wraparound service to address non-vocational barriers and to increase participant’s capacity to successfully achieve their vocational aspirations. Ballarat Youth Power is a Centacare Employment case management based intensive program designed to build resilience and positive self-concepts, improve health, well-being and social connection whilst developing skills for work and career pathways.

Employment Consultancy service delivered within the federally funded jobactive program. Role focus: Client intake, assessment, information provision and referral pathway development, ongoing advocacy and support, reverse marketing of clients, employment placement and tracking (including post placement support), liaising with key stake holders both internal & external (Community Service providers, Employers and Government Departmental offices). Maintaining high levels of service delivery, meeting KPI’s & monitoring/maintaining compliance both client and contractual.

Role focus is in the provision of employment education and training consultation services to clients within the headspace environment. This is an ongoing commitment as a part of my role at Centacare Employment and is in response to Centacare's commitment as a consortium partner with headspace Ballarat.

To engage and educate visitors of Sovereign Hill in regard to issues of the Eureka Story via performance and historical role of the Leader of the Eureka uprising, Peter Lalor, as well as providing excellent customer service and following set routines in the deliverance of the ‘Blood on the Southern Cross’ sound and light show.
