Led and executed bulk materials handling improvement projects for major clients at Jacobs, including BHP, Rio Tinto and Alcoa. Most recently, part of the BHP South Flank team. South Flank is a $3.2bn project for sustaining ore production rate at BHP Yandi.

Support Rio Tinto product groups operations in improving bulk materials handling capabilities using DEM and simulation technologies.-Involved in a range of materials handling improvement projects at RTA and RTIO.-Assisted sites in redesigning transfer chutes to reduce operational downtime and increase throughput. -Developed cash-flow calculation methods to quantify values delivered by projects. -Substantial cash-flow improvement value delivered from the projects. -Provided data analyses of downtime locations across the Pilbara to prioritise top problematic chutes.

-Completed the first phase of the multi-physics coupling project in coupleing CFD with a network simulator for the simulation of energy efficiency in data centre. -Generated a number of invention ideas that were submitted to the patenting process.

-Developed customised solutions for engineering problems using DEM and CFD technologies. -Assisted the sales team to manage and expand the market in the Asia-Pacific region. -Met with current and potential clients to discuss their requirements for the technology and resolve the technical issues that they have with the software.-Provided standard and specialised training courses for clients.

-The project was a collaboration between University of Edinburgh and DEM Solutions Ltd to develop the coupling software of EDEM and FLUENT for solid-fluid modelling. -Developed a number of new features for the coupling. -Nominated as a KTP Scotland Award finalist in February 2010. The project was ranked in the top 10% of over 140 KTP Scotland projects.
