BrightStore is an affordable food scheme, or community shop, operating multiple sites across Brighton and Hove. Weekly shops are supported by a suggested donations saving members up to 70% off a conventional supermarket shop. The main aims are to make healthy foods affordable and accessible to communities affected by Cost of Living pressures.BrightStore is Community Interest Company (CIC); a non-profit running trading-based activities that directly benefit the communities we operate in.

Worked with the Transition team, based within the Estates department of the University of St Andrews. Our remit covered by the University and the local town. I personally delivered on climate communications, volunteer coordination, and community projects, which focused on developing a local sharing economy; increasing food growing and access to local farm produce; enabling greater opportunities for sustainable travel, and increasing climate literacy within the community and University of St Andrews. Transition St Andrews is one of over 2000+ towns groups within the global Transition Network. The ethos is that together we can reimagine and rebuild the world we live in.
