During my time I was expected to lone trade, this meant I was solely responsible for store performance, and store maintenance such as banking, cashing up, opening/closing the store, stock take and following other company specific protocol. It also allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills in a number of ways, and build strong customer relationships.My work in retail has allowed me to work towards targets and gain a competitiveedge. From August to September we gained a 12% growth in profits by using storespecific KPIs, which consisted of changing visual merchandising of the store andby highlighting the best features of devices in store.Occasionally, I would be responsible for liaising with reps who visited - thisinvolved learning about new products and promoting techniques.
