Rules defined by CP or established by AAR (Railway regulation body) are applied on the data generating alarms with advisories for preventive maintenance on the equipment. Preventive maintenance helps to reduce the costs of mechanical facilities by preventing damages to the rails, reducing time the equipment becomes unavailable for maintenance and preventing derailments.
