The main research line focused on the prevalence of the two most important zoonotic bacteria (Salmonella spp. and Campylobacter spp.) transmitted from migratory birds to humans and causing acute bacterial enteritis. My main task was the optimization of protocols for DNA extration and molecular detection (PCR) from migratory birds cloacal swabs for these.
