After three years of establishing a welcoming presence for new audiences in my role at the box office, I have expanded my reach as an advocate for Berkeley Rep by transitioning to the marketing department. On a day-to-day basis, I cultivate and facilitate group sales, serving as the first point of contact for individuals, schools, and organizations interested in visiting the theatre. I also serve as the lead for community engagement and outreach projects, including the organization's street fair and community events presence. My ongoing projects include developing a system for maintaining new community partnerships, and improving upon the Represent program: a series of events aimed toward identifying community influencers and building word of mouth among new audiences. In my first year, I honed my skills in event planning, written and verbal communications, data management, and sales.

The best introduction to the world of non-profit regional theatre! My work at the Berkeley Rep box office began on a part-time basis, and quickly evolved into a full-time position. During my time there, I oversaw the day-today operations of the office, trained and advised new and continuing ticket sales agents, assisted with major ticketing projects, and maintained accurate records of daily ticket sales for senior staff. A true believer in the collaborative nature of theatre, I often took it upon myself to assist with projects company-wide: I often served as a liaison between other departments and the box office, volunteered at the annual fundraising gala, and led chaperoned public tours of Berkeley Rep facilities.

As part of the work study program offered by UC Berkeley, I served as a student assistant to full-time admissions officers in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (OUA). I was responsible for resolving inquiries from prospective and current students, cataloging and organizing student files and transcripts, and assisting with event set-up. Some of the more enjoyable projects I worked on including representing the OUA in online college fairs, and training newly employed student advisors.

My experience in the Chicanx/Latinx Academic Student Development Office instilled in me a unwavering commitment to social justice. During my time there, I promoted the Chicanx/Latinx student agenda by serving on student panels, developing partnerships with campus departments, and attending meetings with the Chancellor. I also facilitated weekly seminars for 20 student-interns, assisted with event and ceremony planning, and maintained the office's social media accounts.
