I know what I want!During my first year of University, my mother advised me to research more than one field of study before committing to a four-year program. Stubbornly, I refused. I had already decided to pursue an education in the health field. I’ve held a resolute passion for nutrition since I was fourteen, and that passion only grows stronger with each passing day. My interests do extend outside of health, but my life’s devotion lies in the pursuit of advocating for lifestyle medicine programs and preventative healthcare systems. I am a health nut and I wear my badge with pride!Whether I’m conducting a motivational interview with a client or making first tracks down a powdery ski slope on my day off, living a healthy lifestyle is what drives me. Diving into various areas of health helps to make me a well-rounded advisor to others. While some may think I am nuts, I am determined to make a positive change in my community and the world!I am resilient!In 2015, I underwent a long-awaited surgery on my hip. Chronic pain was something that affected every part of my life. As often as I succumbed to the pain, I always persevered. Through determination and constant therapy, I am proud to say that chronic pain is behind me. The same grit that allowed me to overcome years of recovery now empowers me today. My propensity to lean into the difficult times and push through to reach the finish line is and will always be the reason for my success. I know that if I can overcome chronic pain, I can accomplish anything. I love a challenge!Comfort zones are safe and secure, but I believe in consistently pushing past barriers to achieve my dreams. In 2018, I decided to say yes to the opportunity to travel and work overseas. The adventures I had were unforgettable and changed my perspectives for the better. One of the most interesting things I observed and experienced were styles of healthcare different from the USA. Relinquishing the safety-net I had clung to altered many of my preconceived notions of the world and allowed me to open myself to new opportunities. This newfound wisdom has helped me to routinely grow both personally and professionally. I love life!I try to live each day with a cup of love, laughter, and joy. I love my career and the pursuit of a brighter future for healthcare and individual health. After hours, I live just as vibrantly. I continuously balance key ingredients to create days that are worth reliving.
