Sam is a Director at TWO Communications with extensive experience in ethical pharmaceuticals. Sam started her pharmaceutical marketing career with Merck-Serono and then joined Actelion UK as Brand Lead for their game-changing pulmonary hypertension treatment.After 10 years client-side, Sam chose to focus on med comms, first joining CFS Events and then Wave. Sam was then with Four Health, formerly Packer Forbes for 9 years and is now delighted to be part of the experienced team of health communicators at TWO Communications.During her career Sam has developed and implemented programmes to support a broad range of therapies from ultra-orphan, high-value medicines to primary care drugs in areas such as diabetes and anticoagulation.Specialising in medical education for the latter, Sam led a large integrated market-shaping campaign to demote the role of aspirin in stroke prevention in favour of anticoagulation. The campaign included a website hub, journal advertising, editorials and inserts, regional meetings, a government e-petition and innovation awards.Within broader med comms, Sam has implemented stand-alone meetings, scientific congresses, satellite symposia, digital advocacy programmes, ‘talking heads’ video bank, animations, presentation slides, advocacy training, service re-design, screening programmes, secondary publications and physician, nurse and payer advisory boards.Sam has worked with primary and secondary care clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, payers and patient advocacy groups in a variety of areas including cardiovascular, stroke medicine, haematology, oncology, respiratory, diabetes, rheumatology, multiple sclerosis and assisted conception. The programmes in these areas have ranged from market development activities such as disease awareness of previously untreated rare diseases, to key opinion leader brand endorsement in highly competitive therapeutic indications.With her background in pharma marketing, Sam is passionate about ensuring that any communications programmes continue to meet the client’s strategic objectives of making a positive difference to people's lives.
