I work to ensure that the faculty and staff of the Humanities Division have the resources and assistance they might need in tasks like scanning, faxing, printing and other office tasks. Additionally, I participate in the upkeep and organization of the academic service centers in the Humanities building as well as in Cowell and Stevenson college. I have worked with professors and other UCSC staff to help file and organize important documents. As an office assistant, it is my job to order supplies, place orders for paper and toner, and handle mailing issues that arise. In my time here, I have also taken on the role of ITS Student Worker and have trained new employees.

As a notetaker with the Disability Resource Center at UC Santa Cruz, I take diligent notes in my classes to send to students who require my services. I take notes by hand or via Google Docs and share the files with students.

As a Student Life and University Guide (SLUG), I worked towards presenting the university to campus visitors. In addition, I led campus tours on walking and shuttle tours on campus. To become a successful SLUG, I studied and memorized many facts about the university and presented this information to large groups of prospective students, parents, school administrators and more. I assisted the Office of Admissions including but not limited to projects such as: publication collation and delivery, special mailing projects, filing and inputting data.

As an intern with the Humanities Green Team, I worked to make the Humanities Division more sustainable by building awareness, promoting Zero Waste and expanding the Humanities Green Team. Specifically, I worked towards creating green office spaces and am familiar with office work. I was able to promote sustainability through outreach and engagement and through creating green events within the division.

I served as an intern for Ph. D student, Bronwen Stanford sorting through samples and identifying different macroinvertebrates in the streambed ecosystem. During this time, I worked in a lab environment to assist with environmental research.
