Started PRN as staff nurse in ICU and as Quality Coordinator. Starting August 2015, I took full-time position as a Cardiovascular Data Manager. I am currently in that position, but looking to get back to patient care.

Critical care float team (ICU, CCU, CVICU, NICU)

Nurse on a 28-bed surgical trauma intensive care unit. Patient population includes liver and kidney transplant, surgical oncology, vascular surgery, general surgery, trauma surgery, orthopedic surgery, ear, nose, and throat surgery, and overflow from the medical, neurology, and cardiac intensive care units. Act as bedside nurse for one to two critically ill patients. Function as preceptor for new staff members and nursing students as well as resource for coworkers. Participate in unit, departmental, and hospital-based committees.Ambulatory Clinical Coordinator February 2013 – February 2014Supervisor for 16 staff members (care partners, LPN’s, and RN’s) in the Hume-Lee Transplant Clinic. Patient population includes liver, kidney, and kidney-pancreas transplant patients pre- and post-transplant as well as specialty services including GI, hepatology, infectious disease, and pediatric hepatology and nephrology. Responsibilities included coaching, evaluations, staffing, and team-building activities (ie newsletter and shout-out box). Participated in leadership committees and team meetings.

Nurse on 28-bed surgical trauma intensive care unit. Patient population included liver and kidney transplant, general surgery, trauma surgery, orthopedic surgery, IL-2 (chemotherapy), and neurosurgery. Acted as bedside nurse for one to two critically ill patients.

Nurse on 12-bed medical surgical intensive care unit. Patient population included chronic illness (diabetes, asthma, COPD, renal failure) exacerbations, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, and vascular surgery. Acted as bedside nurse for one to two critically ill patients. Functioned as charge nurse coordinating admissions and transfers and patient assignments.

Nursing assistant on a 32-bed acute care unit. Patient population included digestive health disorders and surgeries such as gastric bypass, liver and kidney transplant, and Chron’s disease. Acted as care partner to nurses and patients. Obtained vital signs and assisted patients with activities of daily living. Advanced to burn wound technician in the 16-bed surgical trauma burn intensive care unit (STBICU) in November 2005. The unit consisted of 12 critical care beds and four stepdown beds. Population consisted of trauma, transplant, plastic surgery, and burn patients. Additional responsibilities in the STBICU included assisting with and performing complex wound care
