As an associate at Ellis Legal, Samantha uses her extensive trial and appellate experience to effectively litigate claims on behalf of her clients. Samantha represents clients in a wide array of commercial litigation matters including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, trade secret, and fraud claims, as well as general civil litigation matters such as personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful termination.

Samantha educates law students in advocacy and evidence through both lecture and demonstration. Each semester, she coaches student members of the Corboy Fellowship in Trial Advocacy, preparing them for regional and national trial competitions around the country. She previously coached the championship winning team at the 2015 ABA Criminal Justice Mock Trial Competition in Chicago, IL, as well as the championship winning team at the 2015 In Vino Mock Trial Competition in San Francisco, CA.

As a prosecutor in the Traffic Division, Samantha successfully completed numerous jury trials, acting as first chair trial counsel on all but one of them. She additionally conducted over 500 bench trials, substantive motions, and contested hearings relating to both civil and criminal disputes. These matters extended from misdemeanor to felony offenses. While assigned to the Criminal Appeals Division, Samantha drafted appellate briefs and defended convictions in more than 20 cases involving serious felonies such as Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault and Armed Habitual Criminal charges. During that time, Samantha also presented oral argument in the First District Court of Appeals, where she successfully defended and upheld felony convictions of complex financial crimes including stringing of bids and money laundering.

While licensed to practice under the supervision of an attorney under Supreme Court Rule 711, Samantha prosecuted numerous defendants for criminal traffic offenses including driving under the influence of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing and eluding, and leaving the scene of an accident. Samantha was the attorney on record for over 50 hearings and motions, as well as more than 30 trials. During this time Samantha not only prosecuted the accused offenders, but interviewed and examined victims of these offenses.
