I have been published in several sections of the Journal, including Banking & Financing, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Non-profit, Business of Life, Personal Business, Hospitality, and Retail.For Wilma, Wilmington's Magazine for Women, I have written features in several issues as well as contributed to the Night Life column. While interning with this publication I was responsible for Spotlight, a section which highlights the achievements of local women, as well as Look Book, the introduction to the style section which tracks fashion trends.

Wilmington Faith and Values is the second hub site for Religion News LLC's three-year community religion news project. First debuting as a "construction blog" in November 2011, the site later officially launched in spring 2012 as a gathering place for non-sectarian coverage of faith and values news from the Wilmington, N.C./Cape Fear region.The editor and I were the only people on staff, though the website saw considerable traffic. I posted the daily Belief Bytes snippet from Religion News Service's Religion News Roundup, and I also wrote a weekly feature about what local faith leaders are reading called, "My FAV Word."

After graduating I worked at The Greater Wilmington Business Journal as in intern and was eventually hired as a freelance writer.As an intern I was responsible for writing articles, editing, pitching ideas, writing short articles each day to be sent out in email blasts, arranging interviews and photoshoots, and assisting with company-sponsored events.I have published articles in various sections, including a front page feature that describes the strategy of a new hedge fund-managing investment company. I write on a variety of topics, however most commonly I cover Entrepreneurship, as in new start-ups or early stage businesses, as well as restaurant openings, non-profit organizations, and profiles of established local businessmen.I also assisted with the compilation of our Book of Lists, which involves researching data on different local companies so as to publish a comprehensive, non-biased "list" of businesses in a particular field.

As an intern at Wilma Magazine I was responsible for two sections in each issue of the locally focused magazine for women. I also had several feature stories published. Upon completing my internship I was offered a freelance position. The first section I was responsible for while interning was Spotlight, which acknowledges the achievements of local women. I interviewed a variety of people, including politicians, educators, artists and philanthropists. Within this section there was also a small sub-section where I wrote about a book written by a local author.I also created the Look Book each month, which was a one page prelude to the fashion section. It gave a largely visual display of trending items including information on where they could be bought locally. I developed relationships with local designers and boutique owners who I would visit to photograph clothing.
