This exciting opportunity helped me grow my interpersonal relationships and skills. As the Executive Assistant to the Principal, my role was to ensure the Principal was well organised for strategic planning discussions and prepared for the day-to-day operations of running the school. I supported her implementation of the strategic vision, by organising, scheduling and filtering communication that comes through the Principal’s office. I was also the conjugate between the Principal and central/regional offices and the school community. I regularly met with the Principal to receive direction on tasks requiring completion.My role was to support the development of the school’s Annual Implementation Plan by accurately developing, editing, producing and distributing to stakeholders. I worked autonomously and as an effective member of the administrative team, to ensure the timelines and work priorities were met. My role also included preparation for Principal's meetings, professional learning, presentations and addressing school functions and activities. As well as filtering incoming requests for information, attendance at external functions and telephone calls to ensure the Principal has more time too effectively lead and manage. During my time in the role as an EA I had offered suggestions, on improvements to operations to allow the Principal optimal time for undertaking routine business practices and school operations. These have included • scheduling changes for meetings, • changes to regular business practices, • implementation of Zoom/Skype Business calls• requesting agenda items to create agendas and distribute documentationImplementing the above improvements has increased the time available for the Principal to lead and manage.
