Dedicated health information management student with 6+ years of healthcare/ medical field experience in mostly the clerical position. I have proficient use of EPIC (5+ years).All of my roles have been in fast paced, high stress environments such as patient registration, critical care and labor & delivery. Some of my duties have included insurance verification, co-pay collection, referral verification, answering busy phone lines, helping patients get to their destinations, build up and break down charts, constant communication with doctors, nurses, technicians and other personnel to ensure patient safety and accurate patient care. Much more than that as well. I am proficient in the Spanish language speaking & reading. Long term career goal is to become a registered health information administrator. I have 4 years of college experience and am one course away from an associates degree in health care studies. May of 2024 is my expected graduation date. After that I will continue courses to earn a Bachelors in Health Information Management. I very much enjoy working in healthcare and take a lot of pride in being very good at comforting patients and families through tough situations.
