As the interim associate director for the Center for Life Sciences Education, I work to improve the undergraduate biology student co-curricular experience. I focus on career-readiness, student wellness, and connection and engagement.

In addition to teaching, I am an assistant course coordinator for the non-major biology courses. In this role, I lead lecturers and instructors through curriculum development and provide support to deliver an accessible and meaningful class using appropriate teaching pedagogy, provide guidance and oversight to graduate and undergraduate teaching.

I use research-backed pedagogy to develop and deliver a meaningful course for both major and non-major biology students. I utilize various forms of instructional technology and multimedia platforms to deliver an accessible and student-centered course both in-person and in an online learning environment. I support and facilitate department research projects.

As a lecturer, I use backwards design to develop the course curriculum and deliver lectures. I am responsible for keeping up with current higher education research to ensure that my classes are an open and productive learning environment for a diverse group of students. I teach classes that range in size from 50 students to several hundred students both.
