I began training and working as a dance teacher's assistant in 2007 and qualified as a dance teacher in 2017. I am currently employed at the same dance studio and continue to work as a dance teacher. During high school I worked in retail. After graduating high school in 2009, I studied nursing at Curtin University. While studying, I worked as a shop assistant at a chemist and then a check- out person at Coles Supermarket. I graduated university in August 2014 with a graduate program at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH). After completing my graduate program in August 2015, I spent a couple of months in the PMH nursing casual pool, building my nursing skills on various wards throughout the hospital. By December 2015, I was employed by one of my previous ward managers and have continued to work there since. In June 2018, I was a part of the move to the new Perth Children's Hospital. Prior to this move my ward, consisting of orthopaedics and plastic surgery, combined with burns. I am currently trained in all three of these specialities. In January 2022, while on maternity leave, I started my own small business. I am the owner and director of Sam G Dance Academy. I run casual dance classes, sharing my passion for dance and teaching with my local community.
