• This role consists of the Extrajudicial Measures Program and the Direct Accountability Program, where pre-charge and post-charge diversion is facilitated. • The Extra Judicial Measures role is a pre-charge alternative for youth ages 12-17 to deal with minor charges by completing programming. Where any pending charge(s) will not be formally laid, referrals from this program are received from the Durham Regional Police. The Direct Accountability Program is an alternative prosecution for individuals over the age of 18 who have been charged with a minor criminal offence(s) and are willing to take accountability for their actions. Referrals to this program are received only from Crown Attorneys, with some clients being referred from the Durham Regional Police as a pre-charge matter. • My role consists of the following: • Receive and process referrals from either Durham Regional Police or the Crown’s Attorney for either the Extrajudicial Measures Program or Direct Accountability Program. • Conduct intakes with clients to determine suitability for a program or refer to appropriate programming. • Facilitate anti-theft, Managing Emotions, and Healthy relationship groups as part of the Extrajudicial Measures Program.• Establish professional boundaries with both youth and adults who experience barriers. • Maintain documentation and case files.

• Providing in-person care and support to youthand young adults with substance abuse andconcurrent disorders in a residential treatmentsetting.Engage clients as active participants in theirrecovery through prosocial activities,achievement of educational goals, facilitation ofgroup therapy, as well as social skills and lifeskills building.• Being a productive member of a team bystaying up to date on all client documentation aswell as writing daily reports related to clientsuccesses/concerns, or other treatment relatednotifications.• Utilizing evidence-based theories to promoteclient recovery such as strengths-basedperspective, client-centered care, ACRA, and DBT
